An expert in my field
José Paulo Netto, is one of the main and most influential Marxists of the reconceptualization movement of the Social Service in the decade of the seventies, having significant influence in Latin America. The analyzes of this author, are marked by a critical perspective of ontological aspect, in the best Lukacsian and Marxian inspiration.
About his work, we can highlight some debates that the author develops on topics such as the emergence of Social Work as a profession, Syncretism in Social Work, the paradigmatic controversy in the Social Sciences, the crisis of real socialism and the neoliberal offensive, as well as the options that the Social Service presents towards the 21st century.
I like the contemporary of Netto's analysis, and its references to economics and culture. His references to the concentration of power, his search for social justice, in a society free from the accumulation of capital and individualism, also based on democratic foundations and hand in hand with respect for human rights.
