A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

The Subject  that I like the most in this second semester is Social History of Chile. In the classes, the teacher uses the narration of a story to explain the emergence and development of the popular classes in Chile.

Related to the contents, we have seen the development of Chilean society at the beginning of the republican era. We have also seen the processes of marginality and autonomy of the Chilean popular class, with a focus on peonal networks, artisanal mutualism, the proletarian movement, the origin of anarchism and Latin American and Creole socialism.

The last thing we saw was the "social question", the rebellion of the social actors, the emergence of the student movement and the popular constituent power. And more recently the political model ibañista, national-desarrollismo and structural reforms. The emergence of the movement of settlers and the historical tension between the power of the masses and the power of direct action.

I like the subject because it gives an alternative view of Chilean history, one focused on the popular class, which allows us to analyze the relationship between the State and the government.
